POSITION: Technician

SEASON: Winter 2026 (Feb 2026 - Oct 2026)

LOCATION: McMurdo Station, Antarctica

SECTOR/DEPT: Six Mile, LLC Antarctica

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for the safe and technically proficient operation of equipment such as articulating loaders, graders, fork-lifts, tracked agricultural tractors, dump-trucks, excavators, etc.
2. Performs daily equipment checks to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and in safe operating condition.
3. Complies with all ASC Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
4. Performs physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of tall vehicles and heavy equipment, crawling as needed, working outdoors in extreme cold, and walking long distances daily. Snow shoveling, ice-chipping, and other forms of manual labor required.
5. Accurately records time worked and equipment hours used daily in Maximo.
6. Performs other duties as required.
7. Reports to Manager, Solid Waste.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods is required.
2. Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum
